During my career as a math teacher, I discovered that nothing is more valuable than student-centered learning environments that encourage risk-taking and collaboration. I believe that through the use of inquiry-based learning, students have the opportunity to develop the problem-solving skills, critical thinking techniques, and analytical mindset needed to succeed in today’s global society. As Hawthorne’s Math & Science Supervisor, I will work closely with staff, students, parents, and administration to ensure that we provide educational experiences that are authentic, rigorous, and incorporate the skills necessary for the students of Hawthorne to become successful 21st century learners.
